PrintableWorldMap.net has introduced a new category and 15 new
printable maps to the website. Great for geography, history and even biology lessons, these maps can foster discussions or essays on animal habitats, time zones, migration patterns and more.
"I'd previously put up some basic, useful
blank maps for geographical references" said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "But there are a lot of ways that maps can contribute to our everyday understanding of the world."
Most of the new additions are
topical maps. Some are intended to teach about historical placements such as the Roman Empire at its zenith, the Trail of Tears in the U.S., Genghis Khan's territory at the time of his death and the length of the Great Wall of China. There are also maps of Australia with different sections colored to indicate the habitats of koalas, kangaroos and wombats, and maps of the United States and Canada that show time zone differences and state flags.
There are 165 maps available at PrintableWorldMap.net. Some are blank, some are labeled, and some have spaces to be filled in. Each one is free to print as a PDF, or the entire
map collection can be purchased for only $9.
There are more than 80 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free
printables sites created by
Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
