http://www.hilcoind.com, will conduct an internationally webcast auction May 19, 2009 of automotive transmission and powertrain manufacturing equipment formerly used by New Process Gear, a division of Magna Powertrain.
Magna is a diversified automotive supplier which designs, develops and manufactures automotive systems, assemblies, components, modules, and some complete vehicles, primarily for sale to OEMs of cars and light trucks in North America and Europe. The New Process Gear division provided services including engineering, production, assembly, tooling and low volume production of parts for trucks and sport utility vehicles. After restructuring attempts between management and the UAW proved unsuccessful, Magna chose Hilco Industrial to handle the disposition of the idle machinery and equipment assets of the East Syracuse, NY plant.
This major webcast auction features CNC equipment such as machining and turning centers, lathes, gear shapers and gear pointers. Other gear equipment includes hobbers, hob sharpeners, shavers and shapers. Over 25 grinders will be offered, including CNC and manual OD grinders, a CNC broach cutter grinder, centerless, cylindrical and surface grinders, among others. Boring and milling machines, engine lathes, presses, a CNC robot and additional machine tools will round out the offering.
