That claim is made by David Thomas Roberts, known as the "Renegade Capitalist," the founder and CEO of Teligistics which he started with $1,000 and has since pioneered an industry that now is estimated to be a $20 billion market.

In his new book, Roberts shares the lessons he has learned from more than 35 years as an entrepreneur, the unconventional strategies he has employed, and provides specific how-to advice on starting a business and the secrets of being successfully independent – and sustaining that success and independence for the rest of your life.
"Most of us are taught to get a good education and a good job," says Thomas. After dropping out of college, Roberts opened a multi-million dollar air freight business with his brother. When that business failed because of a severe downturn in the oilfield business, Roberts launched another successful business which he later sold. He then built several successful ventures in the freight industry, telecommunications, distributions, network-marketing, and publishing.
Roberts has the rare experience and business acumen of how to get a business started form nothing to how to raise millions of dollars in a private stock offering. He is sought out for advice on business plans and on his rare marketing insight, and has advised universities and colleges on establishing an entrepreneurial studies curriculum.

A serial entrepreneur his entire adult life, David Thomas Roberts has been in business for himself for over 35 years since the age of 21.
