Bethesda, Md. and Philadelphia, Pa. – Author and cartoonist Jack Guinan will donate proceeds from his latest children's book, SomeDay, SomeNight, to CureSearch for Children's Cancer.

"Reading a good book with your child becomes even more special when you know that it supports children's cancer research. SomeDay, SomeNight is a heartwarming tale about friendship, hope and love. Parents appreciate the story, while kids really love the colorful illustrations created by artist John Barilla," said author Jack Guinan. "It makes perfect sense to share this book with CureSearch and support all of the great work they do for children with cancer."

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children. CureSearch funds the lifesaving, collaborative research of the Children's Oncology Group, the world's largest, cooperative pediatric cancer research organization, including every recognized pediatric cancer program in North America—essentially a "cancer center without walls."

The Children's Oncology Group network includes more than 5,000 physicians, nurses, and other clinical and laboratory investigators at more than 230 hospitals in North America and around the world. They treat more than 90% of children with cancer in the United States.

"Each day, 37 children – whose average age is six years old – are diagnosed with cancer," said John L. Lehr, president and CEO of CureSearch for Children's Cancer. "Jack's generosity honors those whose lives have been affected by children's cancer, while raising funds for lifesaving research."
