FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FDIC and PRMIA to conduct the Third Annual Global Financial Services Risk Management Symposium on May 9, 2011

The Third Annual Risk Management Symposium is conducted by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's Corporate University and the Professional Risk Manager's International Association. This event focuses on current issues faced by supervisors and industry leaders, internationally active financial services firms as well as the financial services industry at large. The Symposium features a highly interactive debate-and-confirm format allowing participants to engage industry thought-leaders on important matters of risk and policy. The Symposium offers expert panelists and speakers in three main areas: Global Supervision and Policy, Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Governance.

This year's event will be held May 9, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Symposium will focus on critical elements of risk management and governance, centering dialogue on major planks of the global reform agenda, the Dodd-Frank Act, and emerging areas of enterprise, sovereign and business model risks. The aim is to elevate and explore the most critical lessons learned from the on-going financial crisis. Lessons learned include the need for effective enterprise-wide financial and operational stress-tests, the urgent need for improved visibility into firm and system wide interconnectedness, the nature of organizational complexity and cross-border risks relating to G-SIFI, SIFI, and other systemically important financial market utilities, and whether our current reform path is addressing the right pain points, and where policy may be missing the mark. Speakers and panelists include leaders within the regulatory agencies and across the industry. The event's keynote address will feature William Isaac, former Chairman of the FDIC, Chairman of Fifth Third Bancorporation, and published author.

Esteemed economist and author, Robert J. Shiller, the Arthur M. Okun Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, and Professor of Finance and Fellow at the International Center for Finance, Yale School of Management will also speak about his recent book: Reforming U.S. Financial Markets: Reflections Before and Beyond Dodd-Frank.
