Mache Seibel, MD, whom peers named one of America's best doctors, is pioneering the field of musical health messaging.
NEWTON, MA—Mache Seibel, MD, is among the 5% of American doctors named by peers to the prestigious Best Doctors in America 2009-2010 database.
"Best Doctors," selected upon the completion of a rigorous peer-review process, are called upon to help other doctors correctly diagnose and treat complicated medical cases.
"This is such an honor," said Dr. Seibel, who has been named one of America's best doctors before.
Like many of the doctors selected, Dr. Seibel is a leader in his field. In addition to being a Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, he is the director of the University of Massachusetts's Complicated Menopause Program.
Unlike many of the doctors selected, however, Dr. Seibel is also a singer-songwriter and an entrepreneur. Specifically, he is the founder of a company called HealthRock, which uses music to spread health messages. Through HealthRock, where he writes and sings songs about health, Dr. Seibel is pioneering the field of musical health messaging.
According to Dr. Seibel, "I believe it's better to stay well than to get well. And songs make it easier for people to remember health information, which helps them stay healthy. That is the goal of HealthRock."
As one of America's Best Doctors, and as the founder of HealthRock, Dr. Seibel is well on his way to helping people stay well.
