No one is alone in feeling aggravated when something meaningful appears to fall apart. When multiple issues arise simultaneously, it feels like a sinkhole. It’s annoying at best and seems unsolvable at worst, so it’s our job to test new tactics and strategies.

One example for me is appearing to be stuck in a rut regarding connections on the social media platforms where I’m active. In one case, the numbers declined substantially. The easy route is to give up, but then the following would decrease to zero, which would be unacceptable for most, including me. Continually testing ideas, one new strategy stunned me with its incredible results, providing insights on how upfront loss indicates the better success route.

My Story

Previously, I attempted to participate on several social media platforms. Over time, I realized that focus was necessary to do an effective job and the number of platforms in use required limiting. For the next few years, I spent some time each day reaching out to connect with several people of interest. Then, I began contributing to articles, short posts, and whatever other invitations came my way. 

Ultimately, I began carefully reviewing the strategies used by others to test their processes. Testing the waters, I soon noticed an uptick in followers and their liking the shared posts. 

Collaboration Expanded

The differentiator for doing well came to me late in my career. After all the ugly experiences, my list of requirements for connecting with others became highly specific, with trust and integrity topping the list. However, the question arises: Is it helpful to be ‘so specific with requirements’ when building a notable online platform?

Years ago, I was taught to collaborate on projects with those I trusted. In today’s environment, the collaborative effort has expanded greatly. It was suggested that I repost the work of another and share it in varying ways. Please know that the following is not to brag but to provide facts for you concerning the reality and benefits of my suggestion to share the posts of others. 

Finding the right connections is an elongated process initially. Thankfully, the right people will make beneficial introductions. For a ‘helpful introduction,’ it’s wise to reciprocate by providing helpful insights for others to learn the better success route. Know that you aren’t merely giving away the best of what you now know, but it is an attraction marketing tool inviting new people to connect with you.

But the story expands on the positive end. Over time, as others begin seeing you sharing your expertise and that of others, their interest will increase, and they will ask you personally to learn more about your work. Moreover, some will begin sharing your work, similar to how you share that of others.

Proof Arrives

To my amazement, the following occurred:

I was taken aback to receive notice of a significant number of views for numerous posts created by others that I shared on LinkedIn. I was previously unaware that the numbers could accelerate to that level! 

And then the following note from the platform itself caught me by surprise as I didn’t think the following numbers were possible:

The numbers are not meant to brag but to encourage you to test ideas as they arrive to see how you may maximize results. Without testing, one never knows, but with effort, we test, revise, and grow beyond our initial expectations.

If you have ever felt caught in a circle without a clue how to end it, take quiet time to see what your industry and top competitors are suggesting and doing to avoid the issue. Next, speak to your trustworthy peers to ask them for suggestions. Finally, only test the more appealing ideas individually to see what may occur, and then test the next and the next.

Upon seeing the results you desire, begin sharing your better efforts. Instead of fearing giving secrets away, welcome others to share your specifics and attribute credit to you. Ultimately, you will enjoy attraction marketing at its best.

The next step is to accept invitations to post content for various groups that may benefit from your insights. This will expose you to new people and potentially provide new connections.

In Conclusion: Indication for the Better Success Route

Consideration of past experiences, ideas never exploited, and experimentation with new ideas can lead to better success. The success mindset is to leave fear behind to test varying possibilities and then expand on the one or two that appear to work well. Ultimately, you will find the better route, and the next step is to consider sharing what you discover with your audience so that you can enjoy your awaited success.
