It’s no secret that technology is helping us achieve our health and fitness goals, and it is no longer unusual to see your friends and colleagues sporting a tracker around their wrist or clipped to their clothes. The Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA’s) 2016
Ownership and Market Potential study found that the ownership of wearable fitness trackers nearly doubled over the past year.
There are now 33 million wearable fitness trackers owned in the United States, with an average of 1.4 units in each owner’s household. This is a huge increase from only 17 million fitness trackers owned last year in 2015. And 15 percent of households intend to purchase a fitness tracker in the near future.
