Sacramento, February 22, 2012 – SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization, is a commonly used phrase that not many people completely understand. Simply put it is the process of getting your company or website to be shown near the top of the search engine results page when someone searches on the internet for the product, service or information you provide. The results listed could be a website, a video, an online review or other relevant content to the search.
The 3 major search engines are Google, Yahoo and Bing. When a person types in a word or phrase to search for a product, service or information the search engine displays the results they think are the most relevant to the searcher. No you can see how the word SEO or "Search Engine Optimization" ties to achieving high rankings in the "search engine" results. These results are often referred to as the "organic" or "natural" results as opposed to the paid, or Pay Per Click ads, that are also displayed.
"A majority of Americans will go to an internet search engine to search for a product or service they are looking for if they do not have a source already.
