"Repairing and modernizing our public transportation systems, roads and bridges has always been a bipartisan issue. The American people depend on our nation's surface transportation infrastructure for safe and reliable travel. Without significant investment in our aging infrastructure, Americans will face delays and slowdowns.

"Regarding public transportation specifically, there are at least $232 billion worth of projects that need to move forward. Also, according to the U. S. Department of Transportation, there is more than $90 billion in state-of-good-repair needs to modernize public transit systems across the country.

"The American Public Transportation Association urges Congress and the President to come together and forge a way forward to restore America's infrastructure. The decisions we make today create our future. Now is the time to act."
