Don't Overthink Hostess Gifts: These 5 Classics Are Sure To Please If you have a busy holiday calendar coming up complete with family dinners, cocktail parties, and brunches to attend, consider saving your brain unnecessary overthinking by opting for these 5 classic hostess gifts. Buying no-brainer items help saves you time (and therefore money), but most importantly, unnecessary aggravation, freeing up your mental energy so you can ponder the most meaningful last-minute gifts on your list. - Candles. Electric or wax, steer clear of gimmicky scents and aim for styles with a higher end look. Victoria Beckham, Beyoncé, and LeBron James especially love Diptyque candles.
- Wine and/or Chocolates. A nice bottle for a gift is in the $15-20 range, but if you're inclined to splurge for holiday time, Prosecco, Cava, or Champagne are an easy way to make a splash. Another terrific bet to impress your host (especially if you're showing up with your husband and three kids!) but staying within budget is to add a box of chocolates on the side.

- Picture frames. These are hugely appreciated gifts considering how many photos everyone's taking nowadays. That said, please stick with a classic frames that aren't too busy, oversized, or in gimmicky colors. Your gift recipient will want to look at the photo, not the frame.
