(Palo Alto, Calif. - March 27, 2009 - Boomerang.com) Email marketing expert David Kearney commented on data from Aberdeen Research indicating that companies are seeing email marketing campaigns as an effective marketing tactic to employ during a recession. CEO of email marketing firm Boomerang.com, Kearney noted that the primary objective for any company exploring email campaigns is to select the best email hosting tool.
"With marketing departments under intense scrutiny to generate return on investment for budgetary dollars, email marketing is receiving lots of attention," said Kearney. "An effective email marketing campaign depends on an email hosting tool that adapts to the user's unique needs. Companies must therefore choose email hosting technology and providers wisely. A tool that's flexible and backed by experts with deep experience in running such campaigns becomes critical"
A veteran of MIPS Computer Systems and now CEO of Boomerang, Kearney has filled many roles in marketing and engineering for the high-tech industry. Before co-founding the award-winning email marketing firm Boomerang in 1991, he earned an MBA from Cornell University's S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. Kearney's articles on email marketing have appeared in business periodicals such as DM News, and publications such as AllBusinesshave quoted him on his email marketing expertise.
The number one recessionary marketing tool is email marketing software, according to a survey by Aberdeen Research. The associated report, Recessionary Marketing: How Best-in-Class Companies are Weathering the Storm, identifies the five tools that "best in class" companies are employing as their marketing tactics during this recession.
Economic conditions have in fact prompted 82 percent of companies to repurpose their marketing budgets in some way, reported a March 26th Ecommerce Times article that covered Aberdeen's research. Forty-seven percent of "best-in-class" companies, the article noted, have increased their spending on email marketing under the current market conditions.
Several companies offer small business email campaign tools. Among them, however, Boomerang is alone in approaching email marketing for small business in a customized, tailored way to create individualized email campaigns for clients. Furthermore, Boomerang's consultants are able to draw on a legacy of experience that the company has with enterprise clients, whose needs for email marketing campaigns have imbued Boomerang with the kind of institutional knowledge that yields best practices.
"One size does not fit all when it comes to executing on an email marketing campaign," said Kearney, who encouraged readers to learn more by watching video about Boomerang at the company's website and by visiting the Boomerang Email Marketing Blog. "An email hosting tool able to adapt to a wide spectrum of needs gives small businesses, in particular, the kind of horsepower and flexibility that helps an email marketing campaign to succeed"
Boomerang's customizable email hosting tool for small business, BlastWizard, is available for a free trial. In 2008, users of salesforce.com gave BlastWizard the most four-star and five-star ratings of any email hosting tool, qualifying Boomerang's product to receive that CRM provider's award of "Best Mass Email Tool"
