Terry Brock [00:00:00]:
Hey. You know that video is really hot. Right now, it is one of the popular ways, and really one of the most popular and most beneficial ways that you can market yourself as a professional speaker, or if you’re in other areas as well. We know it’s important. But what’s working and what isn’t working, and what do you need to do right now as we’re looking at it? Here, we’re in the 4th quarter of 2024 as we’re reporting this. So we wanna see what is working and what isn’t, and to find out, hey. We’re here in the hotel, having to hop over here in Orlando to see the one and only Chuck Gallagher join us. Chuck, thanks for being with us today, Larry.
Chuck Gallagher [00:00:34]:
It’s awesome to be with you. I mean, I’m in this I’m in Brazil too. Right?
Terry Brock [00:00:39]:
This is a you know, we’re all out here. So I wanna make it we’re not gonna let you get away from you. You’ll find out what is working in video today because you work with hundreds of people, regular people as well as professional speakers. You’re showing them, here’s what we need to do. Here’s how to put you good video. Matter of fact, you just put one together for me that I got last night at the final day. Really good. You folks need to look into it.
Terry Brock [00:01:01]:
I mean, really nice. I’ve been doing one for a while. Chuck and his team did a superb job on that. Okay. He made it
Chuck Gallagher [00:01:07]:
easy. Yeah. Let’s just be honest. Okay? You did make it easy.
Terry Brock [00:01:11]:
Well, Bradley, but I thought, okay. Like, Chuck’s here. He’s doing the presentation, and invited us to come out just to say hello. We had a little red chair. I thought, let me bring my camera. Let me get some video on this. Happened with this genius brain of his. So, Chuck, you see a lot of people working with video today.
Terry Brock [00:01:27]:
What is working today that maybe didn’t work as well before? It’s something that we need to make sure that we’re doing if we’re using video for marketing our services. Okay. So, Terry, probably
AI Speaker – Male [00:01:38]:
the thing that strikes me most is quantity of video. Now don’t misinterpret this. Quality is important. But let let me give you just a quick story.
Terry Brock [00:01:46]:
Yeah. Please. Thank you. So I
AI Speaker – Male [00:01:48]:
went to espeakers, and I said, I wanna search so pick the topic leadership speakers. Mhmm. Lots of
Terry Brock [00:01:54]:
Oh, there was actually 2 or 3 of those that do that. Right? No. No. 2 or 300 brilliant, I think.
AI Speaker – Male [00:01:59]:
But we’ve been leadership speakers. And then so so I took the first 25 that came up in the in the search. Uh-huh. And I said, okay. I’m curious. How many of them had a YouTube channel? How many of them had how many videos did they have? And how many subscribers did they have? Okay. Now here’s what was weird. Out of 25, 9 didn’t even have a channel.
Terry Brock [00:02:24]:
They didn’t even have a channel? Channel. Woah. Okay. No channel.
AI Speaker – Male [00:02:27]:
So it’s like, okay. How do you expect it to be found as a speaker if you don’t have a YouTube channel? Hello? Okay. But that meant 16 did. Alright. So then of the 16 that did I have a chance at home. On average, they had 78 subscribers, and they had less than a 100 videos. It was like, okay. Let let me redo the search.
AI Speaker – Male [00:02:51]:
So I went back to espeakers, and I said, okay. Let’s do leadership speakers, but I want to I wanna search different criteria. I want it from highest feed to lowest. K? So I did that, and then I took the first 25 highest fee to lowest and did the same question. How many have a YouTube channel? How many videos? How many subscribers? Not surprising. Every one of them had a YouTube channel. Mhmm. 100%.
Terry Brock [00:03:17]:
Not surprising. Not surprising. Yep.
AI Speaker – Male [00:03:19]:
They had an average of over 456 videos on their channels. Some had well over that. The surprising thing was, 25, all of them had over a 1000000 subscribers. I’m not suggesting because you’re dealing with folks like Tony Robbins. Okay? So I get it. You you know, people that are very high fees. But the issue became, if you’re the highest paid fee speaker and you look down that list and there’s a 100% of them have a channel, they have hundreds of videos, and they have lots of subscribers, the way to be found in your niche is to take advantage of what’s free and what’s out there. It’s content.
Terry Brock [00:04:05]:
Content. We keep talking about that, about content to cash, and then start creating entrepreneurs. You mentioned that. Doing more content all the time. So how much content do you need? What would you say? How well is woah.
AI Speaker – Male [00:04:17]:
You know? So so let let me put it this way. In 2022, I had a little over 2,000 subscribers on my channel. Yeah. Nothing dramatic. K? And I sat back and I thought to myself, well, this is dumb. I’ve got a video production company. I mean, it’s not like I can’t produce video. Do you know how to produce video and how to produce video? It’s not rocket science at this point.
AI Speaker – Male [00:04:37]:
Got a iPhone, Android, you can produce video. So I decided in 2023, I was going to produce a video a day. Some of them were short.
Terry Brock [00:04:46]:
So Okay. Some of them were longer videos, but a video
AI Speaker – Male [00:04:49]:
a day. So I did that. What I ended up with at this point is now a little over a 112,000 subscribers and a lot of videos on my video chat.
Terry Brock [00:04:59]:
Mhmm. Now do you think there’s a right correlation to the number of videos you created that were quality, good, and
AI Speaker – Male [00:05:04]:
the number of subscribers you got? Absolutely. Okay. Because what ended up happening was I’m creating enough content that the people that subscribe found interest or more importantly, I think for you and me is YouTube says, oh, look. This person is consistently producing content. They must be important. We’ll start promoting their content in our algorithm. Well, the more your content’s promoted, the more subscribers you’re naturally gonna have, the more subscribers you have, typically, the easier it is to be found. And I and I say this respectfully, but I got invited to speak to in Poland at a cybersecurity conference.
AI Speaker – Male [00:05:43]:
Good. I was not soliciting that. I didn’t know it existed. They sound me. How do
Terry Brock [00:05:49]:
they find you? YouTube. YouTube. Only 2. There it is a good chance. Bluetooth. People are watching that thing. And if you got content, which we should have, put it out. And if you don’t have content, put it out there.
Terry Brock [00:06:01]:
That’s important, but it’s gotta be quality because we also do not lack job for a video to watch. It’s not like people are sitting around going, gee. I got I
AI Speaker – Male [00:06:08]:
wish there was a video
Terry Brock [00:06:09]:
I could watch. Well, no. We we got it. So how do we differentiate ourselves in a mass of a 100 bazillion, I think that’s the exact number I like that. Video. A 100 bazillion videos released every nanosecond, I think. It’s something like it. Well, you know, Terry, you
AI Speaker – Male [00:06:24]:
you look at what you and Gina do.
Terry Brock [00:06:25]:
Okay? You have a you have a
AI Speaker – Male [00:06:28]:
clear following. You’ve got a clear niche. You know what you’re talking about. You’re always bringing content, quality content and new ideas to the forefront. So people that know you and people are looking for the type of material you provide are going to be there. So, you you know, let’s put it this way. You and I, either one, could go out and we could create plenty of content, and there are lots of young people younger than us. Right? K? But lots of young people that just pump out lots and lots of content.
AI Speaker – Male [00:07:02]:
But there is a marketplace for someone that has age and experience and background and skill speaking to bring content as well. So it’s not that it’s there’s only one place in that market for something. If you’re good at what you do, consistently provide content because that’s how you’re going to be found.
Terry Brock [00:07:25]:
I like it. That’s Brandon. Persist with more than what you can do and consistently providing good quality content. Because if you do that, you’re solving a problem. You’re helping people. You’re finding that niche. My niche is not, automotive repair of 1957 Chevrolets, but there’s probably a niche for that that there is. They could do that.
Terry Brock [00:07:44]:
That’s serious. You gotta find your niche, what it is that’s working for you. So, Chuck, we can do these things. I know you help a lot of people, not only with viewing the videos. You do a great job, but also kicking ideas around. What can work? How they can take video and blend it in to start making, more money, do better in their business? How does someone get reach out and get
AI Speaker – Male [00:08:01]:
in touch with you? Well, that’s easy enough. Chuck@chuckallager.com. Please spell that. Mhmm. Chuck, c
Terry Brock [00:08:08]:
h u c k Right.
AI Speaker – Male [00:08:09]:
Chuck Gallagher, g a l l a g h e r, or Chuck at Primo Productions. Primo is primeamproductions.com. And, you know, a lot of times, what we do is we just strategize on the marketing, on the concept of what needs to be done. Let me give you a quick example. Yeah, please. Jane Jeachen Furlong Mhmm. Were doing these Saturday interviews. They were about an hour in length.
AI Speaker – Male [00:08:35]:
And, yeah, if you searched on YouTube for southern female humorist, which is what Jane is Mhmm. Yep. She just didn’t show up. Yeah. And it went from miss South Carolina. From miss South Carolina. Great, Great stories. And it was like, Jane, you’ve got content.
AI Speaker – Male [00:08:52]:
You I’m making this easy for me, but you’ve interviewed Chuck Gallagher, and you had 9 questions. So why don’t we take the hour video, cut it into 9 videos so each video, each question is its own video, and make sure that we’re tagging the southern female humors, southern female humors. But now if you search YouTube and say southern female humors, Jane’s gonna show up because we took existing content, repurposed the existing content, made sure it was content rich with keywords so that when you search, she’s going to be found, which didn’t mean she had to create a lot of new content. She just had to use the content she had in a more effective and productive way.
Terry Brock [00:09:32]:
I like it. Well, Chuck, words of wisdom. We really appreciate that. Not only you gotta get to know this guy. And Will does a great job with he and his team putting together a video. I just experienced that myself. And, also, ideas that you can use, concepts of what’s working in video today to build your business. And then even above all of that, just one swell guy.
Terry Brock [00:09:52]:
Great guy. Chuck, what do you mean for being with us today?
AI Speaker – Male [00:09:54]:
You so much.
Terry Brock [00:09:54]:
Appreciate that. And for those of you that are watching this, wondering how do we implement this, this is an example of what you can do. We talk about this as start leading entrepreneurs. Gina Carr and I talk about how you can take what you’ve got and turn your content into cash. I’m Terry Maher. Thanks for joining me today. We’re excited to hear it from you.
