What does the year 2012 hold for the world? Asking this question brings many different answers, and this conundrum is the primary premise within the Manny
Jones Series of supernatural thrillers created by Eli Just Do we listen to the Mayan prophecy?, or do we look at the Book of Revelation for guidance, but maybe we should give the quatrains of Nostradamus a read? Actually if you want to combine all these various elements with real life places, a fast paced thriller, locations of legend like Atlantis and Biblical foundations and prophecy, well then the four published books of the Manny Jones series are well suited for this task.
As in many Alfred Hitchcock thrillers, the main character, successful blues singer Manny Jones, is a regular guy who gets caught up in events far larger than himself and he must put everything on the line. The massive struggle between the forces of ultimate evil and good are clashing on a huge scale, and Manny has been plucked to stand besides the great figures of history to right the wrongs and fight the good fight.
The first book,
Manny Jones and the Place, was followed by Within and Without, Evermorley and recently released Yonder. The fifth installment, Evidently is set for publication in the fall of 2011.
The Midwest Book Review posted this review at Amazon.com: "When you're out to escape the world and chill, strange things can prevent your relaxation. "Manny Jones and the Place" is the first book of the Manny Jones series, following Jones and his love of the blues as he gathers a band and Abel of Cain & Abel fame and are faced with the coming apocalypse in 2012. 'Manny Jones and the Place' is an intriguing and warped take on the apocalypse, highly recommended."
In the fourth book, Yonder, we find Manny and friends, living in The Lost City under Antarctica, along with Abel, Hank etc. It is now sometime after the final precession, which turned out to be quite an Apocalypse.
Their next mission is to go around and find survivors in fairly large groups, wherever these groups may be, in a customized one of the crafts that travel at the speed of thought, which has been changed to accomodate space for a stage out in the back of it, plus invisibility mode, plus, teleportation prevention mode to keep out unwanted visitors, plus other dimensional spaces in the craft, which can only be seen from the inside.
At their second post apocalyptic concert, they see Cain and some of his cohorts , wandering through the crowd. Needless to say , they don't stay there long. They continue on their 1st post apocalyptic mission, and of course have a few run ins with Cain, the Beast, the Antichrist, etc.
Will they finally be done, and get to go HOME for good, or will they continue the good fight? The book is very different from the other books in the series, but, if one has been reading them all, then they all slowly flow together, in a can't put down type of mode.
I other words, if you have enjoyed the whole series, so far, then, you will definitely enjoy this, the fourth book.
Stay tuned for book FIVE?
