The Manny Jones series of supernatural thrillers is created in a Hitchcock like style where a seemingly ordinary person becomes embroiled in extremely extraordinary circumstances, in this case the struggle between the ultimate evil and the ultimate good for the fate of the world.

When a person gets into extraordinarily dangerous or stressful circumstances, such is the time when the true nature of their personality very often comes through. Do they crumble and fall apart, or rise to the occasion and win the day. That is exactly what happens to Manny Jones, the main character in a series of supernatural thrillers written by Eli Just, when he is confronted with the ultimate evil attempting to usurp total power.

Manny Jones and The Place is the first installment of the series. Arriving to one's home is a familiar routine...but not in Manny Jones's case. The "live-and-let-live" bachelor with a semi-successful music career escapes the bright lights and big city by taking a retreat in his country home. After the band decides to take a break long enough for their bassist to get married and honeymoon with his new wife, Manny takes advantage of the perfect opportunity to enjoy his home-away-from-home.

But when he gets there, strange things start to happen: Cigarettes are replenished, delicious home-cooked meals are served on the table; his truck is cleaned and waxed, his Colt 45 is never empty; and he has a new addition to his one-man family—a dog named Hank. Plus a never empty flask of his favorite drink; Jim Beam.

While these seemingly wonderful things would make any man happy, they begin to startle Manny because he has no clue how they are happening—he never lets a woman overstay her welcome and he has no friends or family who would do these things for him. And to make the deal even sweeter, he meets a beautiful blonde woman named Dolly, who eventually becomes one of the two owners of his passionate heart.

The plot continues to thicken as Manny is confronted with Abel from the Garden of Eden, who is still alive today, and is sent on a mission with Dolly to spread awareness of the coming of the end of the world, or the Precession, as referred to by the Mayans. He forms a new band with Dolly--and the seductive newcomer Stacy—in order to spread the news about the rapidly-approaching end of this Earth Age.

When Dolly is given a philosopher's stone by Abel, they use the precious gem, which turns lead into gold, to buy their way to the top of the music industry, which gives them even more opportunity to inject their message of the coming Apocalypse, in the veins and ears, of people all around the world. Readers will be on the edge of their seats just as they think they are approaching the denouement, but the story only takes a giant leap upwards, preparing them for the next book in the Manny Jones Series.

Readers of all backgrounds will relate to the modern-day protagonist: He has visible flaws that include, a weakness for women, apathy, and recklessness, but he also embodies the ever-so-prevalent feeling most humans experience, which is the longing to love and be loved. His aloof attitude turns into passion, whether it is sexual, emotional, or musical. Throw in a handful of biblical, supernatural science twists, suspense, sex, gun-play, and the result is literary success!
