“Once a word has been allowed to escape, it cannot be recalled.”

– Horace

Did you ever think of the changes in your world from when you were a teenager to now?

When I was in elementary and high school, we had to do research in the library. I had to get my mom or dad to drive me there or ride my bike there. The research I did was in books. In other words, I had to seek out the information for my term paper.

Boy, how things have changed. Now, instead of seeking out information, information is seeking you out.

The Internet is a wonderful thing. You can find the answer to any question you have on the Internet. How many coins were in Ancient Roman currency? How to change a tire on your car? You can find out about any subject which you want to deliver in front of an audience.

It is truly a freeing feeling. For this newsletter, I have done all my research on the Internet. I consulted no physical books.

Below are three resources no speaker should be without. And you don’t have to. They are all on the Internet.

Public Speaking Blogs

Is there anything more conducive to your free expression than a blog. For a minimal cost that you certainly can afford, you can get blog software, host it for a small monthly cost, and express yourself to your hearts content.

I know this because I do it and every speaker I know does it also. It’s a way to establish yourself as a thought leader. There is a surplus of great speaking advice in blogs. Below are three blogs you will not want to miss:

These speaking blogs are great for the readers amongst us, but maybe you are one of those people that likes to hear expert public speakers talk about how to become the best speaker you can be. The answer is listen to public speaking podcasts.

Public Speaking Podcasts

Think of public speaking podcasts as books on demand for the aspiring or veteran public speaker. The best part is you don’t have to wade through seven or eight hours to get the full effect of public speaking podcasts.

Public speaking podcast episodes are anywhere from a few minutes to an hour long. You can listen to them in your car during those long or short commutes to your job or to your next speaking gig.

Below are a few of my favorites:

So, blogs are great for speakers who like to get their information from reading and podcasts are great for speakers who like to listen to the information they are seeking. What about the speakers who like to hear and see someone giving them the information they are seeking? Answer: public speaking videos.

Public Speaking Videos

I am sure you’ve gone to YouTube.com many times to get directions on something, or see an episode about your favorite show, or see you favorite band singing and playing your favorite song.

Why not go to YouTube.com to learn more about public speaking?

Below are three links to videos on how to improve your public speaking:

Remember, communication is made up of body language, your tone of voice, and the words used. Blogs cover actual words and podcasts cover tone of voice. However, it is only video that covers body language, tone of voice, and the words together. It is the full package. That’s why people will pay premium dollar to see a live speaking performance.

So, as a speaker, you have the information you need to become a better speaker at your fingertips. There is a gold mine of public speaking information to make you a better speaking in blogs, podcasts, and speaking videos.

Become a gold mine worker and see your speaking advance rapidly!
