Looking to stand out on social media? Want to improve your personal branding, find a better job on LinkedIn or promote your products as an entrepreneur on Instagram? Having a nice profile picture can only work in your favor. With the right photo, you can instill trust in viewers and gain their trust much faster. By using these tools that I will describe, you can polish old pics and generate better versions of them utilizing the magical powers of artificial intelligence.

Why Use an AI Profile Picture Generator?

No matter how good you are at taking photos, there is always something left to be desired. With the power of AI, these tools can process your original pics and improve your facial features as well as choose any background you like. Some of the better ones tinker with various styles, providing intriguing outputs for your social media profiles.

In fact, instead of having the same boring profile pic on your profile for years, you can actually create enough variations to change your photo on a quarterly, monthly, weekly, or even daily basis!

How to Use an AI Profile Picture Generator

Most of these tools work under a similar premise. You need to copy-paste or drag-and-drop several of your photos so that the tool can get to work. Depending on the software, you might change the settings, like tweaking the style, color palettes, and such. Once you’ve provided these files, the programs generate numerous outputs that you can use on LinkedIn, Facebook, and other platforms.

15 AI Profile Picture Generators to Check Out

Truth be told, there are so many AI generators nowadays that I had a hard time selecting just a few. My main goal was to list programs that have significantly different outputs and features so that everyone can find something they like. Keep in mind I have my personal favorites, and you don’t necessarily have to go with my suggestions when choosing the tool.

1. Appypie

Appypie

Appypie is a comprehensive platform that offers numerous artificial intelligence solutions for entrepreneurs and marketers. Besides generating video content, logos, and animations, the innovative tool can also create high-quality images for your profiles. You can then use these visuals for social media platforms and other channels.

The avatar generator uses simple prompts to pump out creative images. There are also premade templates you can tap into to get faster results.

My main issue with this software is that you need to log in and create an account even to try it out. This is a bit too many steps for my liking. Then again, given that the online tool provides some amazing outputs, it’s well worth a try.

2. Veed.io

Veed.io

This online platform offers numerous tools for video editing, subtitle generation, and screen recording. While their AI-driven profile picture generator isn’t the most popular product on the website, it’s still incredible in its own regard. Most importantly, you don’t need to log into Google or pay fees to use it.

Veed.io’s creative tool has several basic options that will help you during profile picture generation. Specifically, you can change the resolution beforehand. Once you generate the profile photo, you can transfer it into the Veed editor to polish lighting and facial expressions and introduce a wide variety of other improvements.

It’s worth mentioning that the AI-generated profile picture comes with a watermark. If you want to remove it, you’ll have to create a free account.

3. Picsart

Picsart

My main issue with Picsart is that you can’t use it on your personal computer. The headshot generator is only available for mobile users, which is a bit annoying if you do most of your work on a desktop or laptop.

When you use the app, you first have to decide what type of image you want to create. You can choose between cinematic, professional, anime, and a few other visual styles. There’s also an option for individual images, couple, or pet photos.

Once you introduce your presets, you have to introduce 10 to 20 photos. That way, artificial intelligence can generate engaging content suitable for your profile. If you’re also subscribed to Picsart editor, you can perform various tweaks to your AI-generated image.

4. Fotor

Fotor

With Fotor avatar maker, content creators and other users can generate incredible solutions for their social media platforms. After landing on the page, you can choose between a male photo, a female photo, or others (both genders).

The cool AI-imaging software takes you to another page, where you have a large selection of pic categories, such as business, casual, studio, creative, and vintage. You have to choose at least three of them, which the software will use as a basis for content generation.

Once you’re done, you have to introduce your own photos. That way, you can create personal branding according to a specific image style. Fotor is one of my favorite solutions on this list, as it features numerous customization options and has a granular approach.

5. Simplified

Simplified

Simplified is another tool that helps you leave a lasting impression on anyone who looks at your portraits. The software can generate professional profile pictures by interpreting your basic prompts.

My favorite thing about Simplified is that it gives you numerous artistic options during image generation. Among others, you can change the aspect ratio, introduce negative prompts, or find the best profile style for your outputs.

If you want to get a perfect profile picture, I suggest you introduce a few of your own images. That way, the algorithm will have something to go from. Another awesome thing about this relatively complicated software is that it allows you to choose between DALL-E and Diffusion AI technology.

6. Media.io

Media.io

Media.io is another awesome tool that creates incredible digital representations of your persona. When you open the program’s main page, the algorithm allows you to choose from a wide range of artistic styles. You can go with supermodel style, corporate headshop, realistic portraits, ID photos, and so on.

After that, you also have to upload one of your own original photos, with a few rules. For example, you can’t take a group photo or use convoluted background images. Soon after, the tool will provide amazing outputs for your social media, ID, and various other purposes. You can choose between numerous file formats, including JPEG, JPG, PNG, and WEBP.

7. VanceAI

VanceAI

VanceAI is another company that works with photo editing and creation. Their picture generator has a few interesting advanced features, which puts it above some of the other tools on the list. For example, you can change the output format, increase or decrease output quality, and find optimal output DPI.

The process starts by copy-pasting or dragging an image. Once you do so, you can choose one of three male or female styles, which is a relatively small number of options compared to other tools. You can also select whether you want your images to be more realistic or cartoonish.

The thing I appreciate about VanceAI is that you can add a description on top of that. That way, this character creator software will have a better understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish.

8. Hotpot

Source

Hotpot allows unlimited creation of stunning profile pics with attribution. If you want to avoid watermarks, you’ll have to go with a paid option. Like many other tools on this list, Hotpot uses your original images and modifies them by relying on artificial intelligence.

Unfortunately, based on my testing, the tool mostly focuses on the background. It makes smaller adjustments to the color scheme but retains your core image. This can be somewhat disappointing if you want to retouch the photo or introduce new design elements. I’m especially disappointed that it doesn’t do more to improve and emphasize your facial features, unlike some other solutions on the list.

9. OpenArt

OpenArt

OpenArt has one of the more intriguing solutions on the market. Although you have to log in to create your pics, the program left a positive impression on me during testing. The best thing about OpenArt is that it has a range of features that can help you and your team create amazing formal portraits.

First off, you need to introduce a positive and a negative prompt. There’s also a prompt adherence scale that will tell the tool how much it should stick to your instructions. You can also adjust aspect ratio by changing height and weight.

If you’re looking for that perfect picture, you can increase the number of steps AI takes before generating outputs. That way, you can rest assured your artistic creation is one in a million. For even better results, you can introduce face enhancement and increase the number of outputs.

10. Reface

Reface

Reface doesn’t necessarily generate new images. Instead, it takes your previous photos and makes them even better. With this solution, you can elevate your business profile, have fun by swapping faces, or introduce animation to your static imagery. My favorite thing about the program is that it can make your dull, corporate headshots sing and dance.

Besides these effects, Reface can also change your clothes. On top of that, it can introduce a few other enhancements that you’ll surely love. While the tool isn’t ideal for business or ID photos, you can use it for all sorts of fun content.

11. Profile Pic Maker

PFP Profile Pic Maker

In a way, Profile Pic Maker is more of an image background removal tool than anything else. The software takes a photo from your collection and introduces numerous variations of backgrounds based on your needs. For example, if you choose the creative style, you’ll get more chaotic outputs, while the business style will make the background official.

Unfortunately, the software does little with your face. You’ll get several black-and-white variations, and, in a few cases, the software will slightly alter the color palette. Because of that, I can’t really recommend this program to someone looking to completely revamp their profile shots.

12. Photo AI

Photo AI

I dislike Photo AI because it’s a paid tool without a free trial. Most users won’t be able to test the program beforehand, which I think is a major letdown. Still, I had the good opportunity to check it out, and this is what I’ve found out.

The software lets you choose between numerous styles. It is based on prompts and provides numerous advanced features for the users. Generally speaking, the outputs are pretty nice and jovial, and you can utilize them for all sorts of purposes. Although it’s a paid software, you can make your profile pics perfect with this solution.

13. HeadShotPro

HeadshotPro

HeadShotPro is a rather simplistic tool that you can use outright. Like many other programs from this software category, it requires several of your photos to get started. After choosing your favorite styles, the tool will provide several variations that you can use in various situations.

My main issue is that it takes the program two hours to provide outputs. This is quite a long time if we consider what you get with alternatives. The good news is that the photo resemblance is high, and the software retains the body and head placement of the original photo.

14. ProfilePicture.AI

ProfilePicture.AI

If you’re looking to create amazing profile images for your social media, you should definitely check out this software. ProfilePicture.AI lets you choose from a long list of 350+ styles. You can go with detailed, sharp, tuxedo, pin-up, fair princess, rockstar, armor, and numerous other variations. Each of them changes your appearance, clothing, art style, and background.

You have to feed the program with several personal photos so it can get started. The tool has a few basic features that can further modify your original shots.

15. Aragon.ai

Aragon AI
Source

Similar to HeadShotPro, Aragon.AI takes quite a while to process images. Depending on your plan, it might take from two hours to three minutes to get photos for your social media profiles.

Like most of these programs, Aragon requires your own photos as the starting point. After processing them, you’ll get outputs with different backgrounds, poses, and outfits. The tool does a good job polishing your originals, and I would recommend you check it out.

Summary

I always recommend that my readers do their own research. While this article serves as a good starting point, you should still check out some of these entries to see what kind of outputs to expect from each tool.
