"If you''re a financial advisor who wants to acquire more physician clients, leverage the opportunities the Affordable Care Act presents, " says Vicki Rackner MD, President of The Academy of Physician Engagement.
Rackner points out that physicians face acute financial pain. She suggests 5 marketing campaigns that help financial advisors effectively engage physician prospects:
- The "Do You Know" Campaign Add a link in the chain of trust by approaching people who know, like and trust you with this question: "Do you know any physicians who want to take control of their financial destiny in the era of the Affordable Care Act? Please invite them to contact my office for a free special report/webinar/ebook."
- The Advisory Board Campaign Invite key physician opinion leaders to an advisory board. Proactively identify initiatives that will promote physician' financial health.
- The Welcome Campaign Virtually all physicians who begin new jobs do so July 1. Be ready to welcome these physicians to town, and invite them out to lunch to learn more about their clinical focus.
- The Breakfast Meeting Campaign Host a private breakfast or lunch for physicians who attend medical meetings held at resorts.
- The Birthday Campaign Consider a celebration with a "WOW" factor, like a serenade by a barbershop quartet.
- The Survey Campaign Conduct a survey among a group of physicians, perhaps in partnership with a medical society or association.
"Physicians seek financial leadership. Effective marketing campaigns can help advisors attract physicians who seek the services they offer," says Rackner.
