The Happy Gluten Free Vegan - the website for those who for whatever reason are eating a plant-based and gluten-free diet - wants to remind everybody that May is National Celiac Awareness Month. In observance of National Celiac Awareness Month, the Happy Gluten Free Vegan is offering a different gluten-free recipe for each day of the month - and it's all free!
With Cinco de Mayo just around the corner, the Happy Gluten Free Vegan is starting out with five recipes for Cinco de Mayo - one a day from May 1st through May 5th. Then it's on to everything from soup to nuts, appetizers through desserts, and everything in-between. All gluten-free. All free.
"I've always tried to eat cruelty-free, which means at least vegetarian, and usually vegan," explains lead editor, Jessica Harris. "When I learned about a genetic gluten-sensitivity in my family, I cut gluten out of my diet, and wow what a difference it made. I'm so happy to be able to share with others the vegan, gluten-free recipes that I make and serve in my own home. Contrary to what some may think, eating vegan and gluten-free isn't limiting at all - in fact it's opened up entirely new culinary horizons for us!"
For those in the Boulder, Colorado area, the Happy Gluten Free Vegan's sister publication, Gluten Free in Boulder, will be providing reviews of restaurants and resources for those who need to eat gluten-free in the Boulder area.
