A year ago today, the Institute of Management Consultants USA (www.imcusa.org) announced that James J. Talerico, Jr., CEO of Greater Prairie Business Consulting located in Irving, Texas, was one of four consultants who received his Certified Management Consultant (CMC®) designation from the IMCUSA, joining over 8,200 CMC's worldwide who are recognized for their professionalism, standards, core competencies, and ethical practices.

According to Greg Brooks, the Institute of Management Consultants USA's Executive Director: "The Certified Management Consultant™ (CMC^®) mark is awarded to consultants who have achieved a level of performance that includes professional standards in technical competency and ethics, as well as global standards in consulting competencies, professional behavior, client & project management, and personal conduct."

To qualify for the Certified Management Consulting (CMC®) designation, consultants apply to Institute of Management Consultants USA with proof of their experience as a management consultant, a minimum four-year college education, references from clients, and written summaries of consulting engagements. The applicants take written and oral examinations to demonstrate understanding of the management consulting process, in addition to the IMC Code of Ethics and ethical aspects of consulting.
