April 20th is fast approaching which is the 10-year anniversary of Columbine. This date was chosen and still is chosen by numerous nuts because it is also Hitler's birthday. With bullying and school violence still a problem everywhere we can help your listeners. Together, we can provide solutions and awareness. With the topic of school violence, copycats come out of the woodwork. The Secret Service reports that 80 percent of school shooters claimed they were bullied.
The goal for us is to make parents aware and to have them discuss the following with their child:
1. Most of the time, before something happens others are aware of it and just dismiss it.
2. Many attackers have been caught when their threats are taken seriously by those on social networks.
3. If a school threat was spotted on myspace.com or facebook.com, would your child ignore it or report it?
4. We can be proactive or remain reactive.
