Finding the right users on Instagram can be a game-changer for businesses looking to discover potential customers, influencers, or even brand ambassadors. With millions of profiles, searching manually can be overwhelming. Thankfully, there are Instagram user search tools designed to help you locate and connect with the right people more efficiently. Based on my Fractional CMO experience, I’ll cover the top 5 tools that make finding customers, influencers, and niche communities easier than ever.
Instagram user search tools allow you to find people on Instagram by inputting specific URLs, keywords, or hashtags. They help you browse different categories to learn more about the biggest influencers working within a niche. This makes the software perfect for marketers, entrepreneurs, and social media personalities.
Besides helping you find specific accounts, these programs also provide you with analytical data. They show you how often a person posts, how many followers they have, whether they have high engagement, etc. I commonly use this software to find potential partners for my PR campaigns. However, they are also very effective for competitive analysis.
Instagram User Search Engines
Some time ago, I wrote an article about influencer databases. Unfortunately, these platforms suffer from several major issues, including high prices and the inability to search all profiles (they only focus on influencers with large followership). Because of that, I also wanted to create an article dedicated to Instagram user search engines.
The great thing about these platforms is that they allow you to browse much more accounts. Furthermore, two entries that I’ll mention are completely free, which makes them ideal for small entrepreneurs who want to minimize their software expenses.
Toolzu is a simple influencer marketing tool you can access from all popular browsers. The software is online-based, completely free, and you don’t even have to register to use it. After inputting a user ID or name into the search bar, the software will retrieve a list of accounts within seconds.
Besides being incredibly fast, Toolzu is very precise. During my testing, the software retrieved profile pictures, email addresses, and phone numbers for each account. If you wish to further sift through accounts, you can filter them based on category, Instagram follower range, and gender.
The thing I love about this software is that it allows you to analyze public accounts (private accounts are hidden). For example, you can check engagement rates, number of followers, average user activity, and the number of uploads. The software shows when the account is most active, how often they post, and which accounts they interact with.

The great thing about Inflact is that it allows you to quickly browse Instagram profiles based on categories. For example, you can check out popular musicians, photographers, or fashion models by simply going through their respective categories. Furthermore, you can analyze each group based on the total number of feed posts or followers.
Like Toolzu, users have the option of performing an advanced search by typing a keyword into the search bar. This is a perfect solution if you’re looking for a particular Instagram influencer. When browsing public profiles, you can further segregate them with numerous filters, including follower count, post count, gender, category, and country.
The software is also great for competitive analysis. When you click on a profile image of a particular account, you’ll get additional data regarding their engagement, uploads, followers, publishing frequency, common posting time, top caption words, and more. I especially like that Inflact ranks each profile on the global and local levels.
The biggest drawback of Influencers.Club is that it offers a limited number of searches. Nevertheless, it’s still a solid solution if you’re looking to perform an advanced profile search on a smaller scale. It’s also worth noting that the platform works for several social media services, including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, OnlyFans, Patreon, Gumroad, and Snapchat.
The platform has several search bars that allow you to further segregate Instagram profiles. Users can look for a person by hashtags, keywords, and location, as well as minimum and maximum followers. Due to the ability to find specific information, Influencers.Club is ideal for influencer outreach and extensive marketing campaigns.
I like that the platform gives you various contact data for each profile. You can find the person’s real phone number and email address, allowing you to send them a personal message. Of course, the software will also provide other relevant information about a profile, including the exact username, follower count, auto-updated description, and more.

Instagram Data Scraping Method
There’s another cool method for browsing Instagram users, and it comes in the form of Phantombuster. This software is primarily meant to analyze followers for each account, but you can also utilize it for reverse search of Instagram accounts.
Phantombuster gives you enormous flexibility when looking for Instagram users. You can browse profiles based on exact profile URLs or based on premade categories of users. When you find a competitor you want to analyze, you can set up a few parameters that will allow you to go through their followers.
While the tool isn’t that great for advanced data, such as engagement and posting, it gives you a full breakdown of followers for that particular account. You can set up how many followers you want to extract per search, whether to split the file (for people with lots of followers), or to reprocess your searches.

Search by Profile Photo
Reverse image search is another option at your disposal. Instead of browsing accounts based on their names or URLs, you can simply input an image into a tool. The software will browse through all profile pics on social media as well as other web databases until it finds the user you’re looking for.
This particular software does a great job when searching for Instagram accounts as well as all other web users. FaceCheck.id goes through social media, sex offender registers, mugshots, scammer sites, videos, and blog posts to find a person based on a photo. While the software can be used for marketing purposes, it is especially effective for keeping your family safe.
Interestingly enough, the program forces you to wait in a queue before it processes your input. After that, it provides a list of results with users resembling the face on the photo. I have to mention that only the first few results match your pic. After that, you’ll get a lot of people who are similar but aren’t the same person.
The software also shows you where the photo was found. By clicking on the link, you can visit that page, and you get a few other stats that will assist you in your search.
