I have personally seen how AI has provided a ton of benefits to my own Your Digital Marketing Coach podcast. Now i want to teach YOU about the power of AI podcasting through the tools that make cutting edge technology accessible to all.

Through the power of AI, you can simplify your workflows, improve content quality, and save a bunch of money. In this article, I’ll talk about the benefits of these tools and will break down the best solutions on the market for you to consider.

How AI is Transforming Podcasting

AI has completely changed podcasting editing through automation. With this technology, you no longer have to spend hours upon hours searching for every annoying noise within the file. AI boosts your audio quality by removing filler words and background noise and equalizing volume across different tracks.

Some of these programs also come with a voice cloning feature. Use it to automate your content creation without having to completely record audio for each new episode. AI software also generates transcripts and summaries, which you can edit, thus significantly decreasing the time needed, and improving the quality, of your post-production process for each episode you record.

Modern, sophisticated programs will show speakers, create timestamps, and generate notes. Each of these pieces of text can then be easily edited and repurposed for your website and social media.

The most obvious reason to use this tech is so you can save time. By relying on automation, you can streamline your podcast creation and editing, which will, besides time, save you a lot of money.

These tools will make quite a difference for your audio outputs. As they can tackle large quantity of data and most of them work via the cloud, you can scale the process indefinitely. AI-driven software is fantastic for repurposing your content and you can use it to improve your podcast-driven marketing efforts.

If you’re a podcaster, you must rely on powerful, AI-driven tools to automate your daily workflow. With the following programs, you can save hours upon hours of your time while boosting engagement and improving decision-making.

Note that I have done my best to divide these tools into different classifications, but some of them could belong in multiple tool categories.

Editing and Audio Enhancement

These tools are perfect for removing and equalizing audio within your actual content. With them, you can cut sections of your files and produce professional-quality episodes with minimal effort.

1. Descript

Descript

With this powerful editing and transcription tool,  you can expedite your video creation process. Descript takes your visual content and automatically transcribes it. Then, you can make edits to the text, which will affect your video. For example, adding or removing words changes the visual content.

The podcasting tool comes with AI-driven features for removing filler words and noise reduction. Another feature I liked is that Descript focuses your eyes on the screen. So, if you were reading the script from a piece of paper, it would appear as if you were looking at the camera. Descript comes with numerous templates that will hasten the creation of social media posts.

2. Alitu

Alitu

The great thing about Alitu is that it eliminates the need for any similar software or data transfer. Podcast recording is done within the same platform, so you don’t have to move files across various services. Alitu converts files, removes background noise, equalizes volume, and removes breathing sounds for professional-quality episodes.

Alitu allows you to save hours of audio clips. Whether it is music, podcast files, or ads, you can save all these files within the dashboard and mix them to create compelling content. Similar to chat services, Alitu saves your recordings and uploads them to the platform for further editing. There’s also a built-in chat and collaboration features for other users.

3. Cleanvoice

Cleanvoice

Cleanvoice is an AI-powered tool for removing filler words, stutters, and background noise. The software automatically recognizes interruptions that would ruin the quality of your episodes and tackles them in the most efficient way possible. I also love that the podcast tool recognizes speakers and generates transcripts for each one.

You also get brief episode summaries, which help you remember what the podcast was all about. These summaries can be used as social posts on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms. My favorite thing about Cleanvoice is multitrack editing; you can simultaneously cut and edit sections of an audio file for several speakers.

4. Adobe Podcast

Adobe Podcast

Adobe Podcast AI is a perfect solution for professionals working in the podcasting industry. Like most of these programs, the software works exclusively in a browser, allowing you to record and improve episodes from a single spot. Adobe Podcast AI comes with background noise removal and helps you fix potential microphone issues.

The Mic Check feature is one of the more intriguing functions I had the pleasure of using. It optimizes your mic setup and environment for high-quality audio output. Each time you cut or remove a word within the Adobe Podcast AI, it will be reflected in audio content. There’s also a library of royalty-free music and sounds that you can implement into your episodes.

5. Resound AI

Resound AI

Similar to other entries on the list, Resound AI removes silences, filler sounds, and unintelligible noises. The AI-powered audio editing tool uses a drag-and-drop interface to enhance your audio content. I like that the program detects spots within the file that require polishing and recommends corrective measures.

The podcasting tool transfers your new, AI-generated content to social media for quick posting. Resound AI works like Google Docs, where guests can ask to edit your file, making it perfect for teams. Lastly, the software has a feature that helps you recognize and edit sensitive content.

6. Auphonic

Auphonic

One of the Auphonic’s notable features is the sound quality equalizer. The software provides a balance between the microphone, speakers, and different audio tracks. You can set up what type of noise to remove and how to treat various audio elements. Auphonic eliminates your favorite filler words, which makes it vital for your editing process.

My favorite thing about Auphonic is multitrack processing. Among others, the tool comes with noise gate, automatic ducking, and crosstalk removal. Auphonic converts your speed to text and generates accurate podcast transcripts. You can integrate the tool into your podcasting workflows, thus simplifying your entire process.

Otter

While Otter focuses on generating transcripts from meeting notes, it also works for other forms of content. The AI-powered audio editing software makes full outlines and summaries of podcast episodes. Users can interact with the tool’s internal AI chat to extract relevant information from the text, thus expediting the production process.

The software generates action items based on your input. This is invaluable for larger teams where you have to coordinate various members and get everyone on the same page. Otter integrates seamlessly with a wide range of tools, including Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, Amazon, and others.

9. CastMagic

CastMagic

My favorite thing about CastMagic is that you can instruct the tool on what needs to be done. For example, you can tell it to generate episode titles, provide one-line summaries, detect content suitable for quotes, and more. With it, not only will you shorten the podcasting process, but you’ll also make it better.

Above you can see how I instructed it to create a Teaser, the script that I read at the beginning of each podcast, customized to my voice and style. If you were to listen to the above podcast episode, you would hear AI in action!

CastMagic relies on your current media library to generate content and other elements. Adding new files will increase its range and introduce new possibilities. The software is especially great at understanding context, which is vital when combining several textual files together.

With this solution, you can modify hours of audio with a few clicks. You can instruct Podsqueeze which words to remove completely from the file. I also love the feature that trims relevant chapters into 60 seconds, so you can repurpose them for YouTube.

Using these tools allows you to generate transcripts and summaries and repurpose your audio with ease. They optimize your posts so you can share them on social media.

11. Headliner

By using this AI-powered tool, you make promotional videos and audiograms from podcast episodes. The software automatically generates transcriptions, which you can repurpose for blog posts and other textual content. By relying on its podcast editing tools, you can quickly repurpose audio files into videos for YouTube and other social platforms.

One of my favorite features is audience discovery. It finds new listeners for your podcasts and shares episodes through their favorite medium at the optimal time. Geotargeting and segmentation are really advanced, helping you reach a wider audience.

12. Recast Studio

Recast Studio

The best thing about Recast Studio is its ability to shorten your episodes into smaller clips for YouTube and Instagram. It detects the most important moments within a podcast episode and provides you with 30+ clips.

Similar to other entries in the list, it generates transcriptions and summaries, which you can share on your website. There’s also a wide range of templates that make omnichannel repurposing that much easier. Recast Studio comes with a plethora of branding features, ensuring each post resembles the previous one.

With this software, you can generate transcripts, summaries, notes, and social media posts with minimal effort. Dubb gives you numerous title suggestions, generates descriptions, focuses on relevant keywords, and much more.

Basically, the program supercharges your search engine and social media optimization by focusing on things that work. It saves you a lot of time during editing while staying on brand.

14. Podium AI

Podium AI

This particular software does an amazing job of breaking down your audio files into textual content. After analyzing the meaning behind the words, it shows the most relevant keywords used within the podcast episode.

It also splits each episode into chapters, which makes it much easier to skim through the content. Podium AI generates transcripts and summaries that you can further edit and repurpose. I love its “Best Of” feature, focusing on the most relevant moments within a podcast.

Podcast Hosting with AI Features

This particular tool allows you to host podcast episodes. With it, you get data about your performance, with emphasis on audience metrics.

15. Buzzsprout

buzzsprout cohost ai

Buzzsprout is a podcast hosting platform that comes with numerous tools and resources that I use for my own podcast. They have invested in AI through partnerships with leading companies, and while these come at an extra cost, they allow you to utilize multiple AI tools in one program.

The first is Magic Mastering, which is licensed from Auphonic mentioned above and allows you to increase your audio quality automagically.

The second AI tool is Cohost AI, licensed from a company of the same name, and this provides the following resources for every episode you upload (see sample screenshot above):

Remote recording software allows you to do recordings on the cloud. It eliminates latency issues while also providing vital editing features.

16. Riverside

Riverside

Riverside records episodes for you locally, thus avoiding all the issues related to a slow internet connection. It splits your episodes by participants, so you can edit each track separately. The tool has an incredible transcribing feature, supporting more than 100 languages.

The remote recording tool has superb features that remove noise and introduce other audio and video enhancements. Riverside detects the most relevant parts of your podcast and creates short clips out of them.

17. Squadcast

Squadcast

The great thing about this platform is that it streamlines all your podcast recording and editing via the cloud. With it, you circumvent all local limitations and issues, instantly saving episodes online as soon as you’re finished recording them.

I was especially impressed by its audio syncing. Squadcast improves the input for all participants, eliminating any speaking overlap and pauses. The software also has an auto-save feature, which is perfect if things go awry while you’re recording.

18. Zencastr

Zencastr

Zencast relies on artificial intelligence to streamline the recording and editing process. It ensures 4K 48kHz quality for your content and simplifies editing by allowing you to cut certain parts of the transcript. You don’t even need any editing skills to make perfect podcast episodes.

Zencast recognizes stop words, fillers, and noise in the background and removes them based on your instructions. My favorite thing about the platform is speaker detection. This feature recognizes who’s speaking and shifts focus toward that person.

Analytics and Audience Engagement

With this set of tools, you can significantly boost audience engagement. Some of them also feature analytics suites that allow you to monitor and tweak the process.

19. Listener.fm

Listener.fm

Similar to many other entries, Listener.fm generates titles, descriptions, and notes for your podcasts. The tool introduces timestamps and speaker quotes, making it easier to follow the storyline. Listener.fm has special features for modifying your podcasts for LinkedIn and Twitter.

21. Autopod

Autopod

Autopod is a pack of plugins that works in conjunction with Adobe Premiere Pro. Probably the best thing about the software is that it edits up to 10 microphone tracks and videos simultaneously. This makes it an ideal solution when you have numerous participants on your podcast.

The program cuts your long videos and turns them into shorter clips for social media. Besides reducing their resolution, it also changes the aspect ratio to fit a specific platform. Autopod introduces jumpcuts, thus eliminating silences and other disturbances.
