Have you ever used a mockup generator to see how your Facebook Ads would look like within the social media platform? These tools give you a visual representation of your promotional messages and are especially valuable if you need approval in advance for your ad creatives from internal departments or external clients.

The best thing about them is that they reduce ad waste. You can clearly see what’s good and what’s bad about your design and make alterations beforehand. This is especially true if you didn’t optimize your images and text to fit the proper ad formats that Facebook provides.

In this article, I’ll talk about the best mockup generators on the market for you to discover.

8 Facebook Ad Mockup Generators

Posting Facebook ads without prior research is something you don’t want to do. Smart advertisers perform comprehensive A/B testing and mockup assessment before using any message. By optimizing your post, you can maximize every marketing dollar and avoid unnecessary waste for clients.

In the following section, I’ll cover the eight best generators on the market. These are simplistic tools with relatively similar features, and you shouldn’t have much trouble getting used to them.

1. Facebook Creative Hub

Facebook Creative Hub

The best way to create a mockup post is by going straight to the source. Facebook’s Creative Hub features an excellent generator to summarize all your creative ideas.

First, you have to choose one of the 18 possible placements. You can create realistic mockups for Facebook Feed, Facebook Marketplace, Facebook News, Instagram Reels, and more. At the same time, you should add a commercial page for your business (the ads mockup tool will simultaneously add your Facebook and Instagram pages).

Once you’re done with that, it’s time to choose the design format. Users can alternate between rotating ads or single videos or images. When creating multimedia content, you have the option of introducing up to 10 cards within the mockup generator tool.

You’ll also have to select the location where you will send visitors. Besides your business website, you can drive Facebook traffic toward WhatsApp or specific Facebook events. If you also have a call-to-action, you need to introduce it as one of the last options. Once you’ve inserted all parameters, its time to turn your ideas to life!

Based on what I’ve seen, Facebook Creative Hub does an excellent job with your social media posts. Everything’s crystal clear, and you can easily see how the post would look on the platform.

2. Influencer Marketing Hub

Influencer Marketing Hub

When using this post mockup generator, the first thing you need to choose is your focus. Users select between website clicks, events, video posts, and mobile app install, each with different options. To the right, you can check out the image size and appearance on mobiles, news-feed, and Facebook’s right-hand side.

Similar to Facebook Creative Hub, the tool requires you to type in your main landing page related to Facebook or Instagram ad. After that, you need to insert concise messages that you want to share with the target audience.

Depending on the initial option you’ve selected, the user is able to add a feature image of a video thumbnail to see how the mockup post would look like. There are also a few other nifty options, such as inserting reactions, comments, and shares. This plays a role if you’ve already posted an ad and want to see how it looks compared to other posted ads.

Based on what I’ve seen, Influencer Marketing Hub is simpler than Facebook Creative Hub. The post mockups look good and give you a good idea of how the ad will look once published.

3. InBeat

Inbeat

The cool thing about InBeat is that it doesn’t only work for Facebook. Instead, the platform also supports Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and Twitter. As such, it is a perfect mockup generator tool for companies that use an omnichannel approach.

As for the Facebook generator, the first thing you have to do is select the ad type and format. Select between square ads (1:1), tall video (4:5), landscape (16:9), and carousel (1:1). After that, you have to insert your profile username and picture, followed by a caption, which explains your business offer.

The following section allows you to insert an image. For carousel ads, you have the option of adding up to 10 images to replicate how a carousel ad would look on social media. Below that, there are boxes for website, headline, and call-to-action, all integral for the success of your ads content.

Similar to Influencer Marketing Hub, there’s a section for comments, shares, and reactions. This section gives you a glimpse of how an ad would look after receiving initial traction. All in all, the ads mockup tool allows you to insert all these elements to have a better understanding of how the design would affect conversion.

4. OverTheTop SEO

OverTheTop SEO

When using this online tool, the first thing you need to do is select between website clicks, events, and video posts. In the case of the website clicks option, you can choose between image, video, and carousel format, each with a different layout.

After selecting the ad type, you proceed with basic advertiser info, which includes a business pic and name. The most important part of the mockup is the message, showcasing your pitch. Similar to Facebook Ads, the section allows 90 characters max.

You proceed by adding an image, images, or videos (depending on format), followed by CTA. Users select where they want to place their links, whether it’s a headline, caption, or description. To make things more interactive, advertisers add reactions, shares, and comments.

Users can check out the mockup on their mobiles, newsfeed, and right-hand side. The mockups look pretty clean and polished, giving you a good idea how the ad would look like on the platform. I also liked that you can download your mockups, which is especially useful for A/B testing purposes.

5. Primal

Primal

As with other generators, the first thing you need to do is select the type of ad you’re running. Advertisers have the option of choosing website clicks, events, mobile app installs, and videos. If you go with mobile app installs and website clicks, you can further filter the choices by going with an image, video, or carousel.

During this time, you also have to select where the ad will be posted. The choices include Facebook newsfeed, mobile, or the right-hand side of the screen. The next thing you must do is insert company info. Make sure to add an appropriate company pic and name for a more authentic mockup.

The description section is the most important one, taking the biggest space in the ad. Create a proper message before using the mockup. Below that, you’ll see boxes for inserting images and CTA. Advertisers can choose where to place their conversion link, whether it’s in the description, caption, or headline.

In the last section, you can add interactive audience elements. Insert the number of reactions, followed by comments and shares. If you don’t like your mockup, there’s an option to reset all the fields with a click of a button. To the right, users see how the post would look like; press download to save the mockup on your device and reuse it later on.

6. Incrementors

Incrementors

Besides Facebook, Incrementors also works for Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest, making it one of the more wholesome platforms on the list. If you go with the Facebook option, the first thing you need to do is select the type of post you wish to showcase. Choose between image ads, videos, and carousel, all with a different features and layouts.

An advertiser starts the mockup creation process by adding the company logo and main headline. After that, you can choose the company message, with a limit of 300 characters. Next, users add the main image or video for the post. As for the links, you can select to post them in description, headline, or caption.

Incrementors also allow you to insert the main CTA. It’s worth noting that this tool, unlike most other mockup generators on the list, doesn’t have the option of inserting comments and reactions. Still, I think the tool does a pretty good job; your ad will be showcased to the right, in the form of a news feed, right-side post, or mobile post.

7. Media Modifier

Media Modifier

Media Modifier is a simple yet all-encompassing online program. The software allows you to create mockups for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, and LinkedIn, making it the most comprehensive tool within this category.

When creating a mockup, you can see how the post would look like on desktop computers and mobile devices. Users have the option of creating newsfeed posts and stories. If you go with a newsfeed ad, you can choose between a single image and a carousel. Unfortunately, the lack of a video option is quite noticeable.

Media Modifier allows advertisers to make changes to the post itself (instead of typing in elements in separate boxes). You can insert the company’s logo, name, and link within the headline. Add an optimal message and insert links into captions, if necessary. Advertisers can also upload images directly into the mockup.

On the bottom, you’ll notice the section for comments, likes, and reactions. This area can also be modified by clicking on the appropriate box and changing the default values. An interesting thing about Media Modifier is that it’s a paid tool, unlike other programs on the list. By spending some money, you get the option to download the post in several different resolutions.

8. Digital Scholar

Digital Scholar

Digital Scholar is a website specializing in marketing courses. They offer a few tools on their pages, including ad mockup generators. When using this program, the first thing you need to do is select between video posts, website clicks, events, and mobile app install formats.

Once you choose your preferred post, the next step is to choose between image, video, and carousel (only applies if you’re using website clicks and mobile app install formats). An advertiser has to insert the client company’s logo and name on the top, followed by the ad headline and main message.

An important part of the process is adding images. Call-to-action will also affect what your mockup looks like and how it converts. You have to decide whether to insert your link in heading, caption, or description. The last part of mockup creation refers to reactions, comments, and shares.

The software will show you what the mockup looks like on the right-hand side. The program depicts ads in a newsfeed, mobile, and right-hand format. If you wish, you have the option of downloading and repurposing the post mockup.
