The National LTC Network (NLTCN) http://www.nltcn.com is spearheading a nationwide initiative to achieve a higher placement rate for consumers who have applied for a long term care insurance (LTCi) policy. A producer training program tailored to meet this goal is currently under development.
"Asking the right prequalifying questions and having a deep knowledge of insurance carriers' underwriting guidelines will result in more Americans being issued a LTCi policy," said Carol Gardner, President of Lifestyle Insurance Services, who also serves as NLTCN's Chairman of the Board.
The training will help producers by providing a broader knowledge base than that available to their peers who also sell LTCi. Terry Truesdell, President and CEO of The National LTC Network commented, "Our goal is to create training that will empower each of our member producers to be more like a field underwriter versus a sales person, which will result in applications that are appropriate for submission—versus destined to be declined."
